چکیده

Ruthenium myoglobins have been prepared by the reconstitution of horse heart apomyoglobin with either ruthenium(I1) or ruthenium(II1) mesoporphyrin IX (MpIX) derivatives. The ruthenium(I1) and -(III) myoglobins (RuMb and RuMb+, respectively) contain one ruthenium porphyrin/heme binding site; the species are readily interconverted using dithionite for reduction and bromine for oxidation. RuMb binds carbon monoxide to give the known carbonyl complex. Reversible oxygenation occurs readily with protein-free Ru”(MpIX) species in dimethylformamide, but RuMb in phosphate buffer is irreversibly oxidized by dioxygen to give RuMb’ via an outer sphere electron transfer mechanism.

Ruthenium imidazole oxime carbonyls and their activities as CO-releasing molecules.

Carbon monoxide has been found to possess various beneficial effects in living organisms. To study the effects of CO further and to develop potential pharmaceutical agents, a meaningful method for delivering CO to the target organ is needed. It has been found that under physiological conditions various metal carbonyl complexes release carbon monoxide. In this study six novel ruthenium carbonyl ...

Application of Response Surface Methodology for Catalytic Hydrogenation of Nitrobenzene to Aniline Using Ruthenium Supported Fullerene Nanocatalyst

In this study fullerene functionalized using oleum (H2SO4·SO3), followed by the hydrolysis of the intermediate cyclosulfated fullerene as well as  an oxidizing agent was employed to functionalize the fullerenes. Ruthenium was then added by the impregnation method or deposited on the functionalized fullerene. Subsequent to this step, Response Surface Methodol...

Platinium-Ruthenium electrocatalyst as sensor electrode for methanol oxidation

Hybrid nanocomposites of binary Pt-Ru/Polyaniline were prepared by oxidative polymerization of aniline andformation Pt and Ru nanoparticles. The polymerization of aniline was carried out in the presence of Potassiumhexa cyano Platinate (IV) and Ruthenium (III) nitrosyl nitrate as oxidizing agents. During the reaction anilinemonomers undergo oxidation and form polyaniline (PANi) whereas the redu...

Carbon monoxide-promoted carbene insertion into the aryl substituent of an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand: Buchner reaction in a ruthenium carbene complex.

In the presence of carbon monoxide, ruthenium carbenes give a net insertion/ring expansion (Buchner reaction) into one of the aromatic rings of the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand. In alkene metathesis applications, the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand is both robust and typically inert to reactions with the metal-bound carbene. This unique reaction is completely regioselective. The complexes obtain...
